Mainely Sewing Machines presents a "DON'T MISS" program about sewing and sharing. Spend the day with us and meet sewers who love their craft as much as you do. See and touch samples of the newest techniques in sewing, quilting and machine embroidery.
There will be door prizes, "show and tell" (with prizes), and lots of products to purchase.
The cost is $33.00 for the day which includes a buffet at noon.

WE'RE GETTING READY FOR THE 2010 QUILT SHOW!Pillow Cover Challenge New!
Anyone is welcome to participate.
Technique:
ANY SEWING MACHINE METHOD THAT CAN BE USED IN A QUILT.
* piecing
* applique
* paper piecing
* whatever!
Size and Construction:
* pillow cover should fit a 16" x 16" pillow forn (do not include pillow form with entry - cover only).
* any color scheme you choose
Rules for entry:
* pillow cover to be delivered to Mainely Sewing Machines between May 1 and July 1, 2010.
* name and address of quilter to be secured to the back of cover.
* one entry per person accompanied by an entry form available at time of drop-off.
* pillow covers to be displayed and returned after the Maine Quilt Show.
Judging:
By a panel of three:
* the owner
* a customer
* a teacher.
Prizes:
Grand prize for Best Pillow to be decide {value of item approx. $50.00}.
Ribbons and gift certificates for catagories:
* Best workmanship
* Best use of color
* Most original.
Be creative, have fun and bring your handiwork in for us to see and show!
